Heavy rainfall management, climate-resilient urban development, joint financing of green and liveable urban districts - the interdisciplinary project "Green City of the Future" has developed approaches to dealing with the consequences of climate change in growing cities over the past three years in cooperation with science and practice, using the city of Munich as an example. In six Munich neighbourhoods, in addition to the regulatory services of green infrastructure for climate adaptation and the climate protection aspects in the building sector, the perspectives and potentials of urban society for a climate-adapted city were also researched. Through its practice-oriented work, the research team has developed adaptation measures that can be taken at governance, building and open space levels to enable effective climate adaptation and mitigation.
The winning project "Green City of the Future" will be determined in cooperation with the science TV programme "nano" (3sat) via online voting from 25 October to 15 November 2021. On 2.11. nano will present the finalists of the "Green City of the Future" project. Now it's up to you! Vote for the TUM project:
