SolCharge: solar-powered electric vehicle in rural Ethiopia

As part of the SolCharge project, researchers from the aCar group of our Institute of Automotive technology visited a project site in rural Ethiopia with a solar-powered electric vehicle.

Together with their partners from LEAP-RE, they developed a decentralized transportation hub with a solar charging station, providing much-needed mobility and electricity to farmers in remote areas. During the visit, they shared results with local stakeholders and explored ways to boost the hub’s value for sustainable agriculture.
